Hiking club was established in 1990. The main objective of this club is to improve the physical, emotional and social being of the students. It aims to bring the students closer to nature, appreciate the nature and create awareness of conserving the environment, develop a sustainable environment.

Roles and Responsibility

• Planning and selecting place for a hiking trip.
• Doing the ground work. Mapping out the route, booking the required transport.
• Listing the requirements for the trip.
• Informing the trip members about the level of difficulty.
• Be aware of forecast weather conditions which could influence the safety of the hikers and the protective clothing which may be required. Hikers are asked to wear proper footwear.
• Ensure all hikers have adequate water and food for the hike.
  Carrying first aid kit for emergency.
• Briefing Hikers about the safety precautions, hike restrictions and environmental concerns, etc.
• During the hike appointing a lead person and a sweep person,
• Taking break after every 30minutes.
• Taking a head count of the hikers before and after the hike.
• Taking their feedback after the hike.
